Ovulation question??????????????????????…

im new to the pill and don't want to use back up protection.. am really nervous about it.. I seem to be having alot of cervical mucus.. also have pain on left hand side as if i was ovulating.. is this normal..?? im scared to have unprotected because of this or am i just bn paranoid.. ??
