Women help a guy out with your answer?

There is this girl that I met I asked her out once but never took her out. Just to busy, anyways. Last night I saw her again but she told my friend that she would like to run into me again. So she left for florida this morning, I will be leaving soon as well. I don't think I will be returning soon. So should I pursue and stay in contact or just become a memory? I did think of getting her a farewell gift. Maybe flowers, any Ideas?
