Newbie website question.?

Due to a bad business dealing with an IT company, we needed to host our domain ourselves. I have never done his before, but i figured out some things: I got a 4 year hosting account from godaddy, switched and set up the e-mails and got the domain switched over. It used to be that I could edit the website from any computer by logging in through /administrator (then it would take me to godaddy/joomla i believe), but now since the transfer I cannot. That is ok though as i would like to create a new page anyway. What is my next step...freeware as much as possible would be great! Thanks in advance for all your comments!!!
